Scholarships

  Hello Seniors,

I hope your senior year is off to a great start!

Below you will find information concerning scholarships, ACT testing dates/deadlines and information for those planning to attend ICC.

Please keep in mind that your GPA and class rank are very important when applying for scholarships.  Now, more than ever, you need to stay focused and keep those grades up.

 ALL seniors need to see Mrs. A. Smith in the Counselors' office to double check credits and test scores to be sure you are on track to graduate.\

Any seniors who is interested in job shadowing may pick up an application in the career center. In order to participate, a student must: Have a 2.5 GPA, Not have any discipline problems, Complete and return all application forms, Provide his/her on transportation

Masro Scholorship- Mississippi Association of school resource officers have announced there MASRO scholarship. One $500 cash scholarship or each region is available. Students must have completed a minimum of 40 hours of community services and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applications are located in the Career Center.

ICC will be holding auditions for Instrumental, Drum Major, Color Guard, and Indiantette Dancers on April14, 2016. Anyone interested in auditioning, please contact ICC Band Department at 662-862-8305.

Bobby F. Mitchell Memorial Scholarship- This scholarship was created to help with the cost of college education for outstanding students with a major in education, school counseling or coaching. Applications are located in the career center. Deadline: April 15, 2016

The Foundation of the Fabricators and Manufactures Association has established scholarships for manufacturing majors. Scholarships amounts up to $2500. For more information and applications, view http://www.nutsandboltsfoundation.org/scholarships/ .

The 2016 Aspiring Nurse Scholarship- Scholarship is open to all high school seniors who plan to pursue a degree in Nursing. Scholarship amount it $1,000. Deadline is June 30,2016. Interested students should visit www.nursingschoolsalmanac.com and click the banner on the right hand side of the website's homepage.

Medical Assistant Degrees Healthcare Scholarships 2016- Two $500 scholarships will be awarded.  Applicants should submit a 750=1000 word essay on "Why they wish to pursue a career in the healthcare field". http://www.medicalassistantdegree.net/scholarship/   Deadline is June 30, 2016.

Mississippi Municipal League Scholarships -To encourage tomorrow's leaders to further their knowledge of Municipal Government, the Mississippi Municipal League annually presents three $2000 Scholarships. The MMLGeneral Scholarship  is open to all high school seniors. 

The MMLLimited Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of employees or elected officials of Mississippi municipalities.

The Mississippi Municipal Service Company limited scholarships  open to children  or grandchildren of employees  or elected officials of Mississippi municipalities that are members of the Mississippi municipal Liability plan or the Mississippi Municipal workers' compensation group. 

2015-2016 United States Senate Youth Program- an amazing opportunity for motivated student leaders to learn about the inner workings of the nation's capital. Students will meet with the President, a Justice of the Supreme Court, U.S. Senators Cabinet Secretaries and many other leaders as well as qualify for a $5,000 undergraduate college scholarship. CaptainU Student-Athlete Scholarship- The $2,000 CaptainU Student Athlete Scholarship is open to all student-athletes who plan to attend a 4 year college. Information can be found at http://www.captainu.com/scholarship

Any girl in 10th-12th grades interested in the Junior Auxiliary Crown Club can pick up an application in the Career Center. 

Jack Kent Cooke Foundation College Scholarship is a highly competitive scholarship awarding up to 40,000 per year to attend a four-year accredited undergraduate school. scholars are selected based on exceptional academic ability and achievement, financial need, persistence, a desire to help others, and leadership. Any senior girl who is interested in being part of the Junior Auxiliary Charity Bell Royal Court can pick and application up in the Career Center. One scholarship will be awarded to the winner.

The Mississippi council of the blind is pleased to offer the James Doyle Case memorial Scholarship to a legally blind applicant or to the child of an individual who is legally blind. There will be two scholarship of $6,000 given. Applicants must have GPA of 3.0 or above. For more information, log on to www.mscounciloftheblind.org.

Tupelo Elvis Presley Fan club- High School Seniors who sing, dance, or play a musical instruments may submit a performance MP3 or MP4 for review by the selection committee. The winner will receive a $5,000 scholarships. For more information, email whitt@ms.metrocast.net 

Jimmy Rane Foundation Scholarship- Jimmy Rane Foundation scholars are student who exhibit academic excellence, leadership skills and community involvement as well

Now is the time you should all be filling out your FASFA and MTAG applications and sending in college and dorm applications.

Toyota-Haley Barbour Scholarship- This Scholarship is given to ten incoming freshmen at ICC and is worth 1,2500 semester for four semester this scholarship is offered to those majoring in business, manufacturing, mathematics, and other programs found to support the project. Act, HS, GPA, Major, and financial need will be considered in determining the recipients. Applications are located in the Career Center. 

RISE Scholarship Foundation- This scholarship was founded t o recognize and reward students with learning disabilities that have overcome learning challenges, achieved academic success in their formative school years and will continue their educational journey by pursuing an undergraduate degree at a college or university. Applicants must be a current high school senior who had a 2.5 GPA and a documented learning disability http:/risescholarshipfoundation.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/2016-Fillable-Application-1.pdf

ICC will be hosting "FASFA Fridays" to assist prospective students with the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. ICC staff members will be available to assist with completion of the online form as well as to answer any questions at both the Fulton and Tupelo campus offices, which are located in the Student Services Buildings. The offices are open from 8 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Country District 1 Constable Scholarship applications are now located in the Career Center. This scholarship is open to 12th graders that reside in Monroe County and plan to attend collage. The main requirement is that you are committed to going to school and can express your goals for getting a higher education in a 500 word or less typed essay. There will be 2 scholarships awarded. Deadline is April 25th. 

Seniors who are seeking to pursue career or technical education degrees may apply for the 2016 Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarship Program. This program provides financial assistance to students who have financial need and will award 10 scholarships in Mississippi. Students may apply online March 15- June 1 at application.horatiolager.org.

"Indianette"- Dancers: April14, 2016 @ 3p.m. in Fine Arts Auditorium

Choir/Chamber: April 15, 2016 @ 2p.m. in the Fine Arts Auditorium

Many seniors have not taken the ACT. The ACT is needed for admission to college. There are only two test dates remaining for this year.
